Running Achievements:

After sucking at every sport growing up and being picked last in gym class... I gave running a try in 8th grade and finished last on the team with a 27 minute 5K time. The following year I was out to prove something and became the number 1 cross country runner on my high school team with a sub 18 minute 5K time. I have not given up competitive running ever since. The longest stretch of no running was due to injury (about 3 months). I'm not that fast nor am I that competitive. I just love what running has given me and continues to give me.

Lifetime Goals:

I've tried many sports.  Baseball and soccer has way to many rules to remember.  Hockey and skiing required coordination and balance which translated into a lot of falling and bruising.  Racquetball and tennis resulted in high speed collisions with solid objects.  Then came running.  I put one foot in front of the other until I reach the end, at which point I can put both feet up and drink a beer.  I can do this.
