Great Race (9/13)

Great Race Report

Moira Davenport

The Hounds combined a summer of quality training with the momentum gained from strong performances at the GNC Liberty Mile and the Steelers 5K to take the City of Pittsburgh Great Race by storm. Lead by Stephanie Bonk (2nd overall female), Michelle Corkum (4th overall female) and Jamie Morgenstern (5th overall female) the Hounds Women easily dominated the competition. The Mens A team, with Cory Spidell coming in 8th overall, followed suit, easily winning their division. The Masters Mens team continued the dominance displayed at the GNC Liberty Mile, easily taking the title. Several Hounds were atop the leader board in age groups, too. Eric Shafer and Jim Hommes topped the Masters Division wi, while Steve Garand put minutes between him and the others in the 50-54 age bracket.
